A night of thanksgiving! Yes, it definitely was.
The Day 1 of The Annual Holy Ghost Congress of The Redeemed Christian Church of God was indeed Glorious.
With the theme, The Siege is Over, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer paved a way for what was believed to be a night of immense gratitude and Praise to God with his short exhortation.
Taking his text from Psalms 100:1-4, he spoke about how God is the one that delivers anyone out of any situation.
“Many times, those who are under a siege cannot open up to others, because the problem is unusual. Unless help comes from outside you cannot be free from a siege. the greatest help one can get is from God”, He said.
He explained that praising God is telling Him about what he has done in the past and it will spur Him to do it again again. He also said that worshipping God is telling Him who he is to you. Daddy G.O. encouraged us to worship God because doing it correctly would mean their sieges have been lifted even before they ask for anything.
He led many souls that were without Jesus to Christ as it gives them the true chance of knowing God.
From the message, we were able to see how a person under a siege can come out freely. He noted that the only way for one’s siege to end is by means of thanksgiving. Pastor Adeboye stated that thanksgiving is a way of thanking God for the past.
Thanksgiving was truly the theme of the day as we had worship and praises sessions led by the RCCG National Mass Choir, the National Praise theme and many other gospel ministers.
What a time we had in God’s presence today! We pray as we continue to praise and worship God, may our freedom from all types of sieges come to an end in Jesus name.
